2 Days to go Till we have ourselves a Convoy !
28th of Feb, is the significant day in our calendar here in Brisbane.
Lights On The Hill annual convoy takes place at Gatton, about 65 klm's from Brisbane.
A convoy of 500 plus trucks is expected this year with the usual Brisbane section and Toowoomba sections of trucks meeting at Gatton.
Media coverage is certain, it makes the news every year, this years sadly more drivers names will be added to the already listed names of deceased drivers, because this is a memorial wall for those who have lost their lives doing their job, on the road, or in the transport industry.
The upside is, the convoy is a time to show off the trucks that keep this country alive, a truck show helps, and this year the help came in the form of members from our site www.40fm.net , the event is a time to catch up with old mates, meet new ones and generally talk trucks.
Live music, bar an entertainment finish the night off after the days events.
I will try to capture video footage of some of the events and post here for you all to see.
Our site supports charity groups like Lights on the Hill (www,lightsonthehill.com) through our site and its members, and businesses that support us, offer us merchandise to sell, thus giving us a charitable dollar to donate. Our support also extends to people power, and the more members we have the more chance we have of creating awareness for the industry we all work in, and a better understanding of the tragedy that sometimes surrounds us daily.
